Several years ago we use to fish Wapannacca lake near Turrel Ark. for Bluegills and did very well. I can't seem to find any useful info on the internet about it. I tried calling the Refuge office, and never get anyone to answer the phone. Is it still open for fishing and if so, how is it etc? Thanks

Yes....It opens March 1st. I haven't been this year yet, but have been told people are catching some fish and yes, the big bluegills are still in there.

31 I caught on Sat and Sunday a few weeks ago. Haven't fished a full day there. Could prolly scratch out a limit. All were nice fish.
