Do unto others silently

At McCain mail and I have been people watching while my girls shop. Man I can say I have seen an eclectic group of people today from young girls trying to wear and waddle in high heels to bull rings in noses to folks with way too tight of closes showing off all the not so body parts.

Did get inspired when I saw an older gentleman that was looking pretty rough walking a young girl around school shopping. He sat down beside me while I was waiting too. Very nice man but very rough in appearance. I found out it was his granddaughter he was shopping for. He sent the young lady in for a manicure. I was so moved by this that I went in and silently offered to pay for her manicure. What an awesome grandpa that would do something for his granddaughter an didn't probably have the money to spend on that sorta thing.

Nice to help folks and not expect anything in return.

My wife pays it forward often. She says she would rather do that than put money in the collection plate at church where she has no control over where it goes after that. She works at a pharmacy and she knows whose genuinely in need. She paid for an elderly lady's groceries at Brookshire's yesterday. She has also paid for the people in line behind her in the McDonalds drive thru too.

I rarely do that, but I don't mind helping others. A huge limb broke out of an oak tree in the yard of an elderly man and I loaded up the power saw and cut it up and hauled it off for him last month. If I think about it, I'll go out of my way to do a good deed. Most of the time though, honestly, I have other things on my mind and miss opportunities to do more.

ABH, I agree, I think that is the way God wants us to give in a humble "silent" way, Good for you. GTT, this world needs more acts of kindness like you and your wife recently displayed. I don't mean to start Sunday off with a sermon however that kind of generosity and thoughtfulness inspires me.

The opportunities are always there and if you stop and look, you can find them. Problem is..........I don't stop and look as often as I should. I think lots of us are that way. GTT
