    Default Captain Cat

    [IMG][/IMG]

Went out yesterday with my buddy Tom, and my cousin who is staying with me for the summer while he is out of school. We ended the day with 25 very nice catfish. Nothing too big, but required no trimming of red meat. Most beautiful white filets i have seen in a while. We came straight home and fried em up! Our limit was 30, we hit 25 quickly but then they just stopped. Never got another bite. It was a great day fellowshippibg with friends and family.

These fish came from merrisach lake. There was not the usual red meat on these fish. And a slight yellow tint to the very top quarter inch of the filet, but I never trim the yellow. In my opinion that is just the color of channel cats meat. It doesn't have a bad taste as far as I can tell. The red meat does tho. But these cats had none!

Can't figure out where the big ones are here on the river in Dardanelle but can catch them by the hundreds here . River limit is 10 any Catfish plus 10 Channels under 16'' per day. Four of us can limit (80) out everyday in under 3 hours . Every try baiting a hole on the backwaters ?
