Two Thumbs Up 6/19/15

Took my wife and son out to Merrisach Lake catfishing today. Wind was howling! First thing happened was the belt drive on my ulterra broke! That didnt stop us. Went out and had a great trip! My son and I give it 2 thumbs up!!!

That stinks. Haven't heard of that happening before.

Any ideas how to fix it??? Turns out the belt didnt officially break. It just pulled out of the head of the motor. I put it back but..... Trolling motor still will not go up and down. I think where the belt is also caught up inside the motor part that fits around the shaft of the trolling motor. But i aint tearing into that hahaha. The parts list looks like it gets very complicated there. Talked to a certified minn kota mechanic and he said to bring it on in but.... Also said he hasnt laid eyes on one of these trolling motors yet. I really do not know which direction to go. I feel like this is gonna cost me and arm and a leg AND even worse loose a month worth fishing time. I was gonna take family to table rock lake on wednesday for 7 days to fish. Those plans just got canceled. Looks like silver dollar city here we come. I will drop my boat off on the way there i guess. Any help would be much appreciated!

If you talked to Gary at N. I. F. E. Marine he's good and will get right on it. Should be a warranty item I would think. Shouldn't cost you anything. Giving him a mess of crappie might help too.

See wayne at the trolling motor shop.in pine bluff he is good as they come working on a trolling motor . They have a 3 yr warranty !!!!!

I called Mr. Gary at N.I.F.E. marine. He was a super nice guy, but regretted to inform me that he had no experience with Ulterras. That was an admirablel thing to do on the front end. He sounds like a great guy. He did refer me to Wayne in Pine Bluff. Small world. I am taking my boat to Mr. Wayne on thursday. He said no promises but he would give it heck! Thanx guys for the help. I had no Idea where to turn when disaster struck. Great family here on crappie.com!
