Default Why I always miss the best crappie fishing...

    I'm addicted to turkey hunting!

Congratulations to my youngest son, Harrison, who took this big old tom turkey with a 10" beard Saturday morning on the youth hunt.

    Congrats to the young man.

Nice job Dad. My brother-in-law and I took my 15 year old son out this weekend down here in South Arkansas and were lucky enough to call in some birds on Saturday, but it was too thick and brushy to get a good shot. Then on Sunday, we tried a tree line at the edge of a field and they were there, but about 300 yards away. Fought muskweetos (yeah, I spelled it like we say it sometimes) and had some good family time with my brother-in-law, even though we came home empty.

Man, that's some serious camo your son is wearing. I guarantee that turkey didn't spot him. With a mask to match, I'll bet he could pass for a big green Bigfoot. Congrats to Harrison. I know he's proud. GTT

Yep, he has the mask too. We bought those for the boys a couple of years ago. They play hide and seek in them. One goes off and conceals himself and the other tries to find him. They've really learned the art of rolling around in whatever vegetation is available then "blending in".

I always set them about 20 yards in front of me and the turkeys never have a chance!
