Most of us have pulled trailers enough that navigating around incorrect parking is no problem. There are people that are not quite as experienced, that when faced with incorrect parking that reduces their maneuvering room, have problems. There are 2 thing that happen when trailers are parked in this manner. Either someone bites the bullet and gets close to the person who parked wrong or everyone that parks after follows suit and by the end of the parking line, it is a disaster. The yellow lines are put there for a reason, and they usually don't allow lots of spare room since parking space is often at a premium. Be thankful for those yellow lines, because they have probably helped out the people who get to use those areas often more than anyone else. I don't know who's rig that is, but if it were mine in the picture, I would laugh and say yes, my parking sucks and I would make sure I got it between those yellow lines next time, not only for the maneuvering room for others, but to help keep my own rig from being run over. Whoever did it may never get a ticket, but it obviously isn't the way they designed the parking area to be used. Besides, where is the point that it really becomes wrong? Is it when the trailer is 1 foot over the line or is it when the trailer is 6 feet over the line. I may complain about someone being a foot over, your breaking point may be 3 feet over the line, but more than likely if you have been around these ramps much, you have complained at least in your mind about someones goofy parking. You're right, it's really no big deal about pulling around and having to get one tire off the black top, but it is no more of a big deal to take an extra 15 seconds and park between the lines. One thing this thread will do for me is to make me better at getting my rig between the lines.Quote:

Not trying to hijack the thread. Have you ever watched how people push their cart through the different stores. I have often wondered do they drive their car like that. I believe they do which would also accounts for why some of them park their trailers like they do. Parking is one of my pet peeves. My brother told me about when he was stationed in Hawaii. He and his stepson had went to the mall. At the time he had an old full size plymouth fury. Cars on both sides were so close he could not open the door and get in. Luckly he had left a window about half way down. He picked the boy up got him thru the window so that he could roll it down. My brother then climbed up and slid down into the car. When he had finished getting out no one ever parked close to him again. Sorry no pics.

I always carry two tow ropes, hook-it and pull-it between the lines.nonono
