I have lots of experience replacing the end eyes when a tip gets broken. But, what about when you knock the ceramic ring out of an eye? Do you cut the rod which will shorten it if you are habitual? Will the epoxy melt?

You might have to wait overnight. But, I like Gorrila Glue better than a melting stick.
