You keep on and excell is going to hire you to accessorize there boats. But then again maybe you have already thought of that.

Check out this step set up. I was doing some more searching around today. Looks like it would work like a charm on your boat also and be simple. Make both steps in diamond plate and you would be styling and profiling even more than you are now. And, from what ive read I think you could do it for less than $40 total.

That install on those steps sure simplified things. I may need to look into that. I wish this stupid weather would get back to normal. The lightning has run me off my project again. I then drilled the hold for the bungee and also on the bungee placed a piece of heat shrink around the cord to protect it as it passes from the inside of the tube to the outside.

Once the ball is inside the tube, I just reassembled. The fronts, I handled a little differently. My goal is to be able to lock them. I want the outlaws to work if they decide to carry off my rods while I'm in Walmart buying twinkies. My hold down piece is a 1/2 inch steel rod encased in pipe insulation. I drilled and tapped the inside end. The outside end will just insert into a hole in the tube to hold it in place. At the present, they are still not lockable.

Debated whether to just go with the transducer on the transom which works well with the 2 sonars networked but ended up deciding to try a second side imaging on the trolling motor. Way back in the day, an Arkansas member (lovin fishin I think) came up with a way to route the transducer cable through the slot in the terrova shaft. This is a selling point for the Terrova and the Humminbird units since the cable on the Lowrance is too big and the powerdrive doesn't have the slotted shaft. All you gotta do is just disassemble, route the cable and reassemble. The instructions are actually in the electronics forum. I do not glue the cable in the shaft. Strategic use of tape and zip ties will cause gluing the cable to not be necessary. This is complete except for routing the sonar end of the cable. I will not do this until I check the operation of the transducer. If it works ok, I'll drill an additonal hole in the switch panel and route the cable under the deck to the 998.

Looks great RCC. One thing i noticed that you might want to do is take a dremel and put a smooth corner on those zip tie edges. I started doing that when I use em and it works great. If I dont I seem to always be getting caught on or grabbing those sharp edges.
You're right. Everything that has an edge does seem to snag. I've already had the dremel tool out and a few more minutes with it will make the zip ties look and work better. I also need to run by lowes and pic up a whole hand full of nylon acorn nuts for the exposed bolt ends.Quote:

Another question for someone is about buying a spare tire. I'm looking at online at etrailer.com I can add a few things to it and get it over $150 for free shipping. I think the tire is $130 something with a galvanized rim. It is a 14 inch tire. If anyone has any other sources, I'm all ears.
In between work and more work, I worked on boat accessories. Academy had some cheap drift socks so I purchased just to see if they will actually work. I have never used or seen one used so I added a blue pool noodle and called it good. I gotta get rid of those noodles some way.

RCC, just a suggestion. If that sock does not have weights and your putting that noodle on top to float it, wire tie about a 3/4 oz weight to the bottom straps to help it open up.

Doing a little clean up. Had the charger roped and zip tied to the fuel tank. I suspect this was not up to mariner code:Rofl. While I am restricted to land access only, I thought I would try to fix it. There ain't much room left under the turtle hull with all the junk in there, but I got the charger mounted and the mass of wiring zip tied into some semblance of order. Next I will tackle the hood area and see if I can organize the storage and wiring that calls that end of the boat home.

Yes. That is the call sign. Haven't radioed since Joseph was in elementary school. Last fling was receiving packet data from the MIR space station for Joseph to use in a school project. We took a big time lightning strike and I packed up all the surviving equipment and put it in storage and it hasn't seen daylight since. Yep, my first one was a Heathkit similar to the original Apple IIE, a whopping 32k of ram and a 5.25" floppy drive. I thought I had died and gone to heaven when finally got a 286 with a VGA color monitor and got rid of the monochrome stuff. Funny thing is that machine seemed just as fast as my current laptop with 16Gb of ram in it, guess it is all the junk code in the Microsoft operating system. But my Macbook is not much faster, so guess Apple is starting to let junk build up in their code as well.
