I received my Daiwa Exceler LT 1000d this evening.
What a beautiful reel . All silver, chrome with a tad of black accents.
Personally I’m glad Daiwa made a reasonably priced reel that isn’t black and gold , or Presso copper . A nice competitor to the Shimano Nasci , but lighter weight .
I spooled it up with 2# Floroclear over 2# Trout Magnet line for backing .
And then mounted it on my 6’ St Croix Avid Panfish .
The reel was smooth out of the box, but did have a little resistance that I cured with a few drops of Lucas reel oil on the main shaft and on the handle bearings .
It took 8-9 drops , three at a time , then spinning the reel to loosen up the grease they put on it at assembly.

I’ll be taking it out next trip for a sliming and report on how it does .
Pics coming , next to a fish , I hope .
