    Default Another Rod on Order!

While I have only fished the Italian Special very little I am so impressed that I went and ordered the 61 MLF version. And by the way it was the last one and I got it at 15 percent off.....LOL. Man was I lucky...or maybe not, as my obsession is obviously not dead....LOL. I will be looking at more AGS rods from Daiwa and this means I will be selling a considerable number of my inventory. Have to do this to pay for these things. So going out to my shop and decide which rods I'm letting go. When I decide which rods are going will post here first. The 61 will work out great using small cranks for trout, and good to have on hand for a bed of shell cracker. Excited about my new journey.

Im glad the Italian Special impresses even the most experienced JDM rod enthusiast! I'm looking at MaguraProShop web site and seeing all model of Presso rods are only sale. At this price they are all cheaper than what will come out of Japan at the moment. I'm tempting the Presso Air at 245 euro. If the 61 anything like the 58ml-s, Randy, you'll love. It's tapering is beautiful and slow. That's why I described it as more like a L rather than ML power.

    Congrats !
Rod sounds a little stiff for me from what I’m reading .
Of course I have weird rod preferences anyway.

    Me too Chaser.
I agree with the others Randy. If it’s gotten your attention it must be special. I’d like to handle one of the tubular Diplomats, they look good in Victors videos. I’m mostly a spectator still I guess.

What does the MLF stand for?? Medium lite? If so, how stiff are these rods?? What pound test are they rated for? Thanks!

"Medium Light Fast". But keep in mind this is an area trout rod. A ML area trout rod would be considered an UL by anyone who picks one up. Ratings are 0.6 gram to 5 gram....line rating is 1.5# to 5#. This rod is stiff. I received it last night and have not fished it yet. On the panfish side of the house I can see this rod being ideal for shell cracker and bluegill. Maybe not so much for crappie. On the trout side opens up a big world from using a Trout Magnet to casting 5 gram cranks and spoons.

...and if I'm not mistaken, based on Alpha's extensive research besides the carbon wrapped (CWS) guides and bottom cork grip, this exact rods as the more expensive 20th Anniversary Edition:
