Thought of you when I saw this. Get some good Fenwicks out of Japan.

Traditional style, kind of retro. I had one in the late 70’s that was trimmed similar to that.

    Awesome! I want one ! I have a 6’ Fenwick fiberglass flyrod that’s wrapped like that .
I’ve been looking at the Palms Quattro QTRGS 46XUl . After watching this , it’s going to push me pass my resistance.

Edit: too late , I just ordered the Palms 46XUL

Really like the looks of that Fenwick.
I canceled the order for the Palms. It only has four guides and the tip . The Fenwick has four on the top section.

L like the way a few more guides acts too. I had to add 2 guides to my old Lightning Rod and now it has a nicer curve when loaded up. Enjoy the new stick.

Good call! Guide weight (depending on the over all weight) may affect the recovery of the blank but it is much better to have adequate guides to keep the line close to the blank when under load. I have been meaning to write a post on the rod building forum about the effects of switching guides on one of my builds. But unfortunately I have been procrastinating lol!! I need to get more disciplined. For GillChaser

Let me know when you get that procrastinating things worked out. I’ve worked on mine for a while now with no love.

I watched the Fenwick video a couple times .
Even looked it up and looks when it becomes available it’ll be more than I’d want to pay .
Checked on the Palms Quattro QTRGS 46XUL again and they had dropped the price to $120 and change .
I’ve seen them as high as $187 on Amazon Japan , even more on the bay and other places .
Watched a couple of videos in Japanese about the rod , mainly to see the rod in action and when loaded up with a fish , looks almost like a parabolic bend .
I couldn’t find what it’s made of , I was thinking graphite, but it bends like glass .
Got weak at the current price and pushed the button again .
LVSpinfisher1 bought one last year and posted a little about an ultralight saltwater trip he did with it , but hasn’t mentioned it since.
Going have to find out for myself.
    Hope it’ll cast a 1/64 jig .
4’6” and XUL , looks like it was made for chasing gills where I fish .

Palms website doesn’t say what the blank material is. The weight is 72 grams. Heck of a deal you got there. Rod MSRP was 29,200 yen.
