Mini lures galore...

The P-line I’m using is .004” .
Tim , are you asking about the swivel I’m using to add weight ? They are size 0 swivels , tiny little things. I’ve had small gills peck at the swivel, ignoring the spinner .
A lot of the casting distance has to do with the rod tip’s action. It has to be fast enough and light enough to load with little weight.

I use Maxima in 1# when fishing clear streams for spooky trout. .003 inch, 008 mm. Smallest mono I've ever used. Don't know the actual break strength, probably between 1-2 lbs. It casts very well and it seems the only time I break off a jig is when I reach down and grab the jig to twist the hook out when I release them without removing them from the water since nets are a hassle and can cause damage to fish I want to release.

Tim , Is this what you were asking for ?
One pic is of the barrel swivel I’ve been using, the other pic is of a small ballbearing swivel I just tried today .
The BB one did give me a few more feet casting .

Thanks Chaser. After looking at them zoomed in I believe I could add a 1/80 or 1/100 to the spinner too. Simple things they are. Now I’ve gotta go try em. Haven’t even opened the little box yet.

LV, that was why I used Nanofil for so long. It was supposed to be .001 but I never measured it. It would cast the lightest lure the furthest but broke for no apparent reason. I’ve often looked at the line in the picture but never tried it. I’m kinda anxious to hear how it works for you.

Skeet, I had great success with this suffix #1 line. Obviously with .004 inch, it's break strength is anything but. A couple of posts ago I had a great time applying it at dock catching suspended Bluegills up to 6 inches. Great fight, never snap while fighting fish. But it's applications end there for me because I like dropshotting flies and from time to time I get snag easily casting from shore at an angle, so 2 or #3 would be my lightest mono for that style of fishing.

I have some small swivels, even some in black, to put together with those spinners and give em a try. My 5’ is the lightest line and action so I’ll start there. The heat is going to be a factor this week. It was still 90* at 10:00 last night and the humidity is real high. I’ve never been bothered by it like I am this year. I’m looking forward to the next trip. I have several tiny baits to try, may even make it a no jig day. Maybe. I can’t remember when I did that last. I’ll post when I go.

Mine arrived today, they sure are tiny. Managed to catch a couple of sunfish at the pond with them. I've been playing around with making some spinners, I can't come anywhere close to gettting them that small. The smallest inline blade I could find from Barlows is a good bit bigger than the one that comes on the Dovesun spinner.

I tried to make some just a little larger , but couldn’t come close .
Mine caught a few fish , but nowhere near what the Dovesun spinners do .
I’ve experimented with small swivels about 10-12” above the spinner to prevent twist and add a little weight to help with casting .
Latest is a size 0 ball bearing swivel that helps .
