Still using my Mitchell 300 my dad purchased for me in 1957. Also use an old 308 or my "new" 408 for crappie.

First spinning gear was a Zebco Pro Staff combo. If you didn't push the 2 halves of the rod back together after a couple of cast you would cast the tip section out into the lake. Good ol days for sure

Like many of us, I have a lot of interests. I finally learned that there was only so much me and so much money and I couldn’t do it all. Most everything that takes good equipment is expensive and going up every day. I love working with wood. Priced a table saw lately? I like two way radio, everything about that has changed except high prices, they were high then and not coming down. I’m glad that all of you kept fishing as one of your primary hobbies cuz it makes for a great community.

I have some other interests that could definitely prove expensive were I starting over again today or if I felt I needed to acquire the latest and greatest equipment. But I already acquired everything I need to continue to pursue those interests. Being retired and with a limited budget I am happy to live with what I have.

There was a day when I was younger when I had my urge to acquire new stuff and the budget was a little looser then since I worked at a decent paying job. I understand having that desire to acquire. I have everything I need now.
