    Default Testing Lunaki 63 LML

Finally got to really test out the new rod. Went to the city lake here…which is only maybe 2 acres. I was planning on getting into a bunch of 5-7 inch bluegill….which I was told it was full of. Well I didn’t get the first tap from a bluegill. On about the 4th cast something slammed my Sow Bug Trout Magnet and after a great fight brought a 16 inch trout to the net. Followed it up with 2 more…both at 14 inches. I had a Zenon 1000S spooled up with the Varivas Double Cross Braid X 9.6# test and a section of 4# test Trout Magnet Phantom FC 4# test leader…..jig head was Daiwa Gekkabijin 1.5 gram with #8 hook. The Varivas Doubke Cross is a game changer for sure. Line management with this line is excellent….nothing at all like fishing regular braid…..knot strength is superb. Of course had to make sure of drag settings since the upper limit of the Luna is only 3#…..don’t want to break a rod that’s for sure. Really felt good to finally get into some good fish. Will hit this pond back up on Monday…I’m sure it will be covered up on weekends. All in all it was a great little trip. The Luna performed great….gave great feedback and great casting ability. Don’t let the Light Medium Light rating fool you. The LML rating is on a hybrid light game rod…this is an UL rod fur sure with the solid tip. It gets into the butt very fast though. Been way too long since I had fished….felt good to be back out there.

I am…as soon as I can. Between finishing what we want to do on this house…some nagging medical issues….just hasn’t worked out yet.

Ah! No rush, Randy. Hope you feel better soon and that the home action item list gets smaller.
