This morning I took my Daiwa Revros LT 1000s , spooled with 3# P-Line , and paired it with my old model 6’ St Croix Panfish series ULF rod .
Over a year ago I bought three packs of four DAIWA GEKKABIJIN AJING .8g JIGHEADs , but never used them because they are pink and glow white .
Until today my confidence in jig color has been highest in black , followed by unpainted.
Lately I’ve been missing a lot of bites and wanted to see if the Daiwa jigs made that big of difference.
I think it did . And I now have more confidence in using a pink and white head .
I caught eight small bass and one small gill . Finally I caught a bluegill.
All were caught using a Sowbug TM with the tail highlighted chartreuse with a Zoom dye pen .
I lost one bass that jumped and threw the jig , and missed two bites , which could have been tail nippers .
My casts were a little longer than usual with the 1/32 jigheads I’ve been using , but that could have been because of the lack of wind most of the time today .
The weather was cool . 44 degrees when I left home and only 51 when I left the one . It was mostly overcast but a patch of blue sky showed a couple times , but didn’t last .
I got reacquainted with my 6’ SC panfish rod , it was up to the task as was the smooth winding Revros LT even though it did have a little handle play that isn’t in my Daiwa Fuego LT’s .
A fun two hours .
