Abu Garcia Mass Beat tested !

I met up with my fishing buddy today at the big reservoir.
Weather was sunny, cool , low 50’s , and a little breezy.
The lake was stained and up about a foot . I’m guessing from the ran we had last night .
We met at 11:30 and fished until around 3:40 .
I took four rods , two weren’t touched , and the third was only fished for about fifteen minutes.
Most of the time I fished my Abu Garcia Mass Beat III 6’3” travel rod with a Shimano Sahara 500 reel and 3# P-line .
I only caught one fish all day and my buddy only caught one .
Both of us caught a Hybrid. A cross between a white bass and Striper . Some folks call them Wipers .
Mine was a little bigger than his and was a good test for the new rod , and it passed with flying colors .
Hybrids are fighters . They don’t give up . I had several nice drag stripping runs .
If I’m only going to catch one , I’m glad it was this one .
