Headed out this morning around ten and headed to my closest creek that is available to me .
Flat Creek feeds Starr’s Mill pond and continues below the dam where I’m able to fish .
We had a heavy thunderstorm late last night and the water was stained and running faster than I’d like .
But I decided to give a try using my two ultralight Buttersticks (1wt & 2wt) and an ultralight 3wt. CGR .
I caught 4 small redbreast, a green sunfish and a small LM before I decided to explore another spot , another county water reservoir that was around twenty minutes away .
At lake Horton I was surprised to see very few people there like there used to be before the county tightened up on out of county users , charging an annual fee for a permit.
After fishing for about an hour I remembered why I didn’t bank fish there much . The water available to fish is super shallow in almost every spot available to bank fish .
I did manage to catch about ten small bluegills and a small redear that flopped out of my hand before I could snap a picture.
On my way back toward home , I stopped at the mill again and caught a few more redbreasts and cool looking bluegill. And finally caught a beautiful green sunfish that made my day .
