I can't believe the new Airity doesn't come in a 1000 size model?? That is a downer to me. I see that the new Vanquish does come in a 1000 model at roughly $430 a pop via back order. Thinking about purchasing the Vanquish although would prefer the Luvias Airity but not in the 2000 size.
Daiwa is moving away from 1000 series reels. I don’t need a reel but if I wanted one I would for sure get the 1000 Vanquish over the new Airity.Quote:

posted a couple 21 luvias airity reels for sale in the buy/sell section if anyone is interested.
Sorry to hear that about Daiwa. The 1000 Size is about perfect for U/L. I guess the sales just weren’t there.

For those with a Lunakia 610, do you pair the rod with a 1000 or 2000 reel? I’m considering the Vanquish C2000s for the 610, but a little undecided. I’ve only had 1000s reels thus far.
Which is the rod better suited for?

Both will pair just fine. I have had both sizes on the rod. Keep in mind 1000-2000 reels are exactly same body. The only difference is the size of the spool. The 2000 series will only be a couple of grams heavier….if that.Quote:
