Randy - I’m am just providing a perspective from an average JDM guy. You words carry much more weight than mine (or most others on here). Seeing that you repeated a little of what I said (or me really repeating you), tells me that I’m starting to learn a little from the Master. You should be proud that you have inspired many others (including me) on here to pursue the finer aspects of JDM ultralight fishing. Thank you sir! I have really enjoyed the journey.

On the N-one yes the tip is softer than the triple cross . Not a huge difference but when using it as a dock shooting rod I don't get the low trajectory release I'm looking for. But on a side note I have to x 3 what has been said about the ice cube . I now have 2 and the fun factor of using that rod is off the charts. While I can't shoot it in a 2" gap like I can with the triple cross it will shoot a jig just as far as the triple cross just need about a foot of clearance to make it work but as for as catching fish and sensitivity it's my favorite rod I've ever owned. Everybody should have at least one. For casting a 1 gram jig or even lighter it's the cat's meow. Scott

Thanks again to my friend ultraslab for the generous gift of a TCX-T682AJI rod. It has also become my favorite dock shooter. I put a 15 Luvias 2004H I snagged on sale a while ago on it. Just installed the bearing upgrade in it as well. Fantastic combo, and I also plan to drop-shot some spotted bass with it.

Shellcrackers will be moving shallow soon, and they are going to hate me and my Ice Cube! I can shoot a jig under the bushes with a Mr Twister micro craw or Trout Slayer, tipped with a red wiggler - a deadly combo indeed.

Good to hear. I tell ya.....having only shot docks as an afterthought....so I am not really versed in it....seems like you and ultraslab have hit upon something with the Triple Cross. I have the Rockin' Finesse spooled up with some ester hoping to hit it in the morning. Crappie....Gills....shellcracker....Spots......gon na be a lot of fun with that rod.

Question for Alphahawk

Last week, March 2 to be exact Digitaka ran a quick Time Sale, 30% off and featured a couple of Majorcraft Rods, one being the Area Stage 6.3 FAX UL. I debated, not a fan of the shorter rods, but still pulled the trigger. At 120 bucks and change with free shipping, I could not resist. It came today and it is an absolutely beautiful rod, maroon trim, shiny titanium guides elegant cursive white lettering.

My question is about the action and the lure rating. I will preface this by saying it is my first JDM Trout rod, all weapons in the stable are Ajing and Mebaru rods, hence the new hen in the house is definitely different. Un boxed and on the first good shake I noticed it seems almost whippy like. Kinda reminds me of the Yellow Eagle Claw UL rods of old. The blank is very small in diameter as compared to the Ajing rods I own, and it weighs more than the 6.10 Corto. The lure rating, on the bottom recommendation is .9g, that is what has me sorta wondering. The rod seems very lightweight and in my book would be suitable for even lighter weights on the bottom end. The 7.4 Corto I just ordered and received is a broom stick compared to the Finetail but has the same lower limit lure rating. Hopefully Randy or someone can explain the lower rating. I have not field tested either rod, and may understand once I get some seat time on them, just curious what to expect.

Nice sale I missed it :/ I bought the same rod (full price) after seeing Randy reviews.

I need to get some seat time also, but compared to my Tenyru lunakia it's not as firm.

From watching the action of the rod on Randy's video I trust it will be a blast to fish.

I think Randy has the SUL, got to be even “whippier” than the UL. 6-8 inch Gills should put a bend in this rod and pull some drag like gangbusters!!

Received the 610 corto today, seems like a nice rod, build quality is nice. Only flaw I can really see is the transition from the tip section to the rest of the blank, kind of a bulge there. Much more rigid than the tict Rockin finesse. Can't wait to fish with them. I like the looks and the build quality of the Rockin finesse a bit more than the corto. Has anyone compared the Rockin power to the corto?

Id expect a whole lot of fun....LOL. You will find that rod can handle 1/64 just fine. You should also find it to be a very fast rod....getting into the butt quick to give you a good hook set. The action on area trout rods are always going to be softer than on any Ajing rod and also on most Mebaru rods. I’ve owned quite a few Major Craft rods.....you will find their rods to be faster than most other brands.
