Do you catch perch frequently? I knew Tennessee had them but didn't know we did in Alabama.

I fished the upper end of Limestone Creek today dragging my kayak in by the old iron bridge. The water was clear with visibility of about 18 inches and 60 degrees at daylight warming to 65 by afternoon. I kept half a limit of Crappie and returned about the same number of larger Crappie. I caught fish everywhere including numerous Bass, small Gills and short Crappie. I ended up keeping a couple Perch, two Goggle Eye and a few larger Gills as a bonus. All fish came off jig and bobber with a 1/32oz jig head and a Chartreuse Z-Man Micro WormZ fished about 15 inches below the bobber.
Beautiful day on the water!

Maybe a dozen a year, but typically only a single random one any given trip. Wished I could target them and catch them more often, but I think their numbers are just too low in the lakes and rivers I fish.
Good job. Sounds very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing
Guntersville has plenty of perch if you can find them.

Great job DB. Good to see you back out on the water after the crash at work. The hunt for perch continues! LOL
I have an unorthodox plan for Alabama Perch in late February, we'll see if it works out!
