24 volt, 80 lb thrust, Ultrex by Minn Kota. And any of the CDC sponsors like Russell Marine, etc.

I've got a stock Bass Tracker TX 17 and the motor I have is fine but I'm wanting to upgrade to a spotlock/trolling capable unit. What's y'alls opinions on the best unit and where to buy it from.
Thanks in advance.

How powerful is yours currently?
Are you wanting us to stay about the same power or more power?
I have Garmin chartplotter and so I got the Kraken and have loved every minute of it.

24V is a must
whatever you purchase, make sure there is a repair shop that can do warranty work within a reasonable driving distance. thats why I went with the ultrex
Love my ultrex. Especially for trolling.
Most likely 24V. If you have Humminbird fishfinders, get a Minn Kota Ultrex or Quest Ultrex; if you have Garmin fishfinders, get a Garmin Force; if you have Lowrance fishfinders, get a Lowrance Ghost. If you think that you will never need a foot control, the Terrova or Ulterra work, although I got to a point where I needed foot control (or at least better than what my Terrova offered), which is why I switched from a Terrova to an Ultrex.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.
Definitely endorse the Minn Kotta option with a remote control in 80 lbs.
In this day in time i would go brushless. Or go the economy route and go with minn kota power drive with ipilot

I was a Minn Kota guy up until a few years ago and bought a boat with a Garmin Force and after selling that boat I didn't even consider another trolling motor for my current boat. Brushless is the only way to go especially if you do any type of trolling and Garmin's customer service has always been top notch the couple times that I've called them and it's 24 or 36 volts just depends on how you want to hook it up.
