Good report. Great catches.

I fished Limestone today from daylight till 3PM. The wind was brutal early (especially in a kayak) lunching with the bay white capping. The creek wasn't much better with the north wind, but the Crappie were on fire. I culled through larger fish keeping a limit of 9-to-10-inch fish by 9AM. Catch and release the remainder of the day and caught Crappie steady until I left. The fish were shallow and aggressive on the laydowns with most fish coming from two to four feet down. I'm still using the 1/30oz jig head with the Zman WormZ in Chartreuse. Good thing they were hitting so hard because I couldn't have felt a light bit with the wind. The water was 52 degrees when I started and had warmed to 54 by 3PM. Started muddy until the islands then clear to the river. The water was about 6 inches higher than my last trip and they started pulling water early dropping the water that 6 inches by the time I left. That also pulled the muddy water down to the mouth with the river. Visibility of only about a foot when I left. Rough day for the fisherman, but great day catching!

I fished Wednesday out of a boat and the wind was bad in the evening. I can only imagine how bad it was in a kayak. Way to make it happen, wind and all.
LOL, I spent a lot of time jigging with one hand and holding on to a tree for dear life with the other, LOL!
