Default Kayak Trip Report, Indian Creek

I returned to Indian Creek today, wow what a difference a week makes. The water was 62 degrees at daylight and had warmed to 65 degrees by 3PM when I headed home. There were schools of shad from the mouth at the river all the way back to the barrels marking the Redstone off limits area. Crappie were actively biting all over, but again 8 to 10 feet deep. The fish wouldn't rise above that depth to take a bait but would hammer it once you were deep enough. Most fish were larger today so I ended up keeping several larger Crappie than I normally keep to finish my limit before I left. I returned a dozen or so huge Crappie with the largest a little over 17 inches. 50/50 Black to White Crappie today and all the larger fish were white crappie. Visibility of about two feet from the river mouth to Barron Fork, from there on back to the barrels visibility was only about a foot. All fish can off single pole with a 1/30oz jig head and the ZWorm in Chartreuse.
