Default Kayak Trip Report, Limestone Bay/Creek

I returned to the upper end of Limestone today, amazing the difference a few days makes. I kept half a limit and returned twice that many larger fish. Shorts seemed to be everywhere along with bass, gills and of course ChannelCat. I must have returned a dozen and half Catfish. All fish came off a 1/30oz jig head with the Micro WormZ in Chartreuse fished about 18 inches under a bobber. I didn't get on the water until around 9AM so the sun was already overhead. The fish came anywhere there was a shade spot with at least two feet of water. The water has dropped about 6 inches from my last trip so down about 18 inches to two feet from summer pool and 66 degrees when I got on the water. It had only warmed to 68 degrees by the time I left around 5PM. Visibility had also improved to around 18 to 24 inches. I also saw one of the medium sized (8 foot) Gators in the middle pit. Maybe that was my good luck charm!

Enjoy while you can, they'll be locking the gate after this coming weekend. Getting in will get a lot harder!
