Default Kayak Trip Report, Forest Ingram Lake

I fished Forest Ingram today in Cullman keeping a limit of Crappie and returning endless more. The Crappie were 8 to 10 feet deep in 10 to 12 feet of water. All fish came off single pole casting. I tried several combinations of jig weights and bodies, 1/20 oz jig head with a 1" slider body in white and chartreuse worked best. I also returned endless Gills and small Bass up to about a pound and half. The water was 84 degrees at day light and warmed to 88 degrees by lunch time. Visibility was about 18". The Crappie were thick and biting good feeding on shad schools.

I wasn't going to take a picture, but expected someone to say, "pictures or it didn't happen".

You are doing good work to thin them out.

I'm tossing back 5 or 6 for every one that goes in the cooler. If they could get enough food the lake would be full of 10 inch fish in a year. They're so thick on the fish finder you can't read the bottom for a hundred yards at times. No chance of thinning them out, LOL!
