Gators in Cotaco

My fear is a little different. With all the talk going on about them and the lottery to kill and tag them I'm afraid they will be taken away from us. I have never been afraid of a gator I could see.

And as far as the party boaters I will be one of the 300 boats in Anderson Creek for the 17th annual river fest. I told my guest they better not waste me being the DD. And yeah there will be a trash bag on board.

Kind of unusual that they are that far north. Never had seen any in Guntersville

Lottery for Gator isn't in our area. I've never had a problem and hope they stick around. With as many little creeks and back sloughs we have around here we could have 100's spread out across the area and still go years without seeing one.

Very true.

The River Delta in Mobile and Baldwin Counties have an abundance of them. If you get the opportunity to see the Bull mating call. It is rather impressive. A deep roar that you can feel in your chest

Humans are way more dangerous than a big lizard , but go feed one a few times and then it might not be the human bringing the dangerous to the show ....they aint very smart folks , the brain is tiny , "training" one to come to you is pretty darn ding dong .....

I do love seeing those big lizards out there. I like seeing all the "equalizers" out there (cottonmouths, copperheads, rattlesnakes, gators, etc.) They make it so the folks that don't REALLY want to be out there go home, and the rest of us will keep on fishin :ThumbsUp

We all have different fears. My only real fear of them is ending up in the water which is much more likely in a kayak. I have done it a few times.

Attack I saw one in Cotaco in a slough that looked to be 10' he was in the big slough as you go downstream from Sharp's Ford boat launch sunning himself on the bank and he was BIG

Hopefully he doesn't decide to meander up stream too far. That size would make me rethink my choice of fishing spots!

Bust that gator and load it up in the truck. Gator tail meat (tenderized) is excellent fried or grilled. Did the same in far West Texas with rattle snakes.
