I fished Cotaco on Friday and Saturday. The past three times I’ve been out there it’s been muddy, high waters, and fast currents.
On Friday, the water was up at about 17ft depth in the center and fairly muddy. Current was moving fairly quick in the AM and sped up as TVA turned the turbines up at Wheeler over the course of the day. Surface temp at 51. Bass were hitting the top water like crazy all around me so I had to pick up the bait caster while I had the chance, bagged me a nice one!
Caught a few crappie around 4-6 feet in the areas with a little current, but they were few and far between.
Saturday was a different story. Water had come back down about 3 feet and the current was ripping pretty hard. Water was brown as it can get. Still managed to get a couple on a slip bobber. Pulled a nice eating size catfish from under a log and a 2lb stripe. Made for a nice fight on the 4ft micro rod!
All fish were caught and released. My freezer is full!
Hope everyone had a blessed holiday and I hope the water and weather can return to normal soon.
