Nah, it was a guy who stays at the Rose Trail campground for a couple of months out of the year. He’s been fishing there since the 1980’s and still uses his same Alumacraft that he’s had since then!

I have considered becoming one of those guys.

Just curious, are you talking about bear creek that's part of Pickwick? Or are you talking about one of Upper Bear or Little Bear TVA lakes on the actual creek? I just moved to the shoals area and am trying to sort out what people are calling what.
Yes they are speaking of the Bear Creek just across from Waterloo on Pickwick Lake. Those other Bear Creek Lakes and Cedar Creek Lake are part of The Bear Creek Development Authority Or "BCDA" lakes west and south of Russellville Al.
I went down Sunday afternoon for a few hours and had 31 keepers not bad I didn't think for the middle of the day pulling jigs.
We went to Cedar Creek this weekend caught a lot of short fish and a few keepers. Fish were scattered and the ones we caught were about 10 feet deep in 30 feet
of water around standing timber.
