I had the same idea yesterday. I took my daughter out and planned to keep a few and try to fry them whole. The last time I had that idea, I was cleaning a limit, and after about five minutes of scraping scales, I went inside and got the electric fillet knife. This time, I figured we'd just keep about 10 and try it out.
We fished about three hours and caught one nice bluegill and and an accidental crappie around 12". I guess we'll try whole fried bream another time. LOL.
Good job Bob!

Good catch.
I remember that was the fish we ate the most as I was growing up.
I remember Mother would clean and save milk cartons so that when we went fishing, we would come home and clean 'em like that and stick a bunch of 'em in milk cartons, fill with water, fold the top down and freeze 'em in the chest freezer. When we were ready to eat 'em, we would take out cartons, head to the front porch cement steps, and bust open the cartons and ice with claw hammers, and to the skillet they would go.
Mother's size limitation on bream (Brim, we called 'em) was "Keep 'em if they got a tail on 'em".:biggrin
