Thread: Light switch bite

I’ve heard people say that the bite is affected by the current if they are pulling water at the dam or not. Today, I got to witness it first hand on Guntersville. Swift current, they were hitting hard. Current stopped, and the bite stopped immediately. Just like turning off a switch.

I have seen the bite stop and start with the current when bass fishing. Not so much when crappie fishing, but maybe that is because I still don't have a good handle on crappie fishing, bass are just easier to catch.

Seen it with most fish

I have seen it many times fishing under bridges on the big g,it has always amazed me how that is

I'm like jack, seen it in all fish. Neely Henry is the worst lake for it that I've ever seen. When they cut the water a Neely Henry most days it's over for at least 3 hours

I agree, also when the wind picks up or stops. Sometimes the slightest change will start them biting or end it for the day.
