    Default Introducing Myself

Hi folks! I wanted to drop in and introduce myself to all of you as a new member from Alabama (Morgan Co). I look forward to future discussions and learning as much as I can from everyone. I'm fairly new to crappie fishing. This Spring is the first time I've set out with the intention of targeting crappie. I'm a bank fisherman, which I know presents its share of challenges for catching these fish, but it has been fun learning so far.

I did have some success finding some fish in Flint Creek back in the middle of March, but it's been tough sledding for me since then. With not having much background or knowledge on patterning fish it's been a little difficult to know where to look lately. I am assuming that fish should have spawned near the banks recently, or they may be done by now, still trying to figure that out . Would love to hear from some of you other bank guys on what your tactics are this time of year and what type of cover you're looking for?

Below are a few pictures of some fish I caught last month. These fish were in a small tributary off the main Flint Creek channel holding in 5-6 foot of water, caught them on Bobby Garland Electric Chicken Baby Shad and Chart/Black tube jigs under a float. I had a ball catching these fish and it's ruined me I do believe! Not to mention how good they taste in some cornmeal and peanut oil !

Welcome to madness. Being tied to the bank will definitely limit you but if you put in a lot of time you can catch them. I'm a long way form you but if you want to travel I can tell you some places on Neely Henry and Logan Martin.

    Lose the float.

If I'm not fishing from the bank, I'm in my float tube -- fun way to fish.

Welcome welcome, bank fishing is good up until about july on most gville bridges. If your throwing jigs 1/32 jig with a bg or tube on 4lb line count down maybe 15 one one thousand and reel slow. Adjust count to depth and reel real slow.

    Blessings

I just got into crappie fishing 3 years ago. I’ve fished from the bank for the most part. I got a kayak for my birthday last year. But with my busy schedule at work I still do a lot of bank fishing after work. I catch some during the spawn. Which I feel is late March to mid April. In those time frames I could and would be glad to help. But I’m pretty sure they are gone from the places I could help with. But if you want to give them a try pm me and we will see how it goes.
