The motors with electric steering have a big advantage over cable while trolling. Not to mention the ability to set a heading or the ability to set a speed by GPS. And if you got a degree in rocket science you can set and record a path for it to follow

It works great for everything, but the problem with looking for fish with it is you have to stop and put the trolling motor down to use it. It's best to search with a good side imagine then go to the live scope to make your cast or approach if you are spider rigging. It would probably save me a few cast that it takes me to find the brush pile. I can see some cases where it would be very helpful like fishing a stump row where there's 1 or 2 fish on random stumps but most of what I do side image is a better option. I can ride by and scan it in seconds and I know if there's fish there. I'm not looking for 2 or 3 fish very often. I'm looking for the mother load! I will have a live scope one day but for now I'll stick with my lowrance Attachment 372387Attachment 372388

Once I learned how to use my Livescope, I very seldom strike out on a fishing trip. It hasn't helped much if the fish are shallow, but if the fish are in 3 feet or deeper, you can eliminate barren water. I've learned a lot about how crappie respond to certain bait presentation and also realized how spooky they are when you approach them.

I use my side image to find fish and then scope them up. I feel that the perspective mode will be a great tool to use to find them in shallow water. I have not installed it yet on mine but am going to.

Yes I agree that the perspective view will be very helpful. I heard that Garmin is still working the bugs out of the system right now. I’m going to wait until then.

it is pretty darn cool technology and most all the competitive pro types use it .
it makes ketch fish about as simple as it can get .
watching your bait and the fish in a live situation is really nifty .
it can be frustrating though and it can just as easily make it to easy .
my bud has a nice one and it will in fact be a valuable tool if you master how to use it .
my 3 cents
