My post refers to salt and brackish water infections. The TN River system, which has experienced major flooding of farm lands and sewage treatment plants, is probably now contaminated with high concentrations of Strephococcus pyogenes, which can cause this type of flesh eating bacteria. Properly cooked fish and personal sanitation are the best precautions available. A simple scathing of an itch can break the barrier the integumentary system provides. That would be difficult to diagnose. As is water going up the nose, into the eyes, rectum and urethra.
