I read a study just last week concerning the incidence of FEB infections being co-related to drainage from flooded farms and sewage plants. Remember the Midwest flooding? The study reveals that where the Mississippi River drains into the Gulf is a hotbed of this type of infection. Where Gulf currents go, so goes the bacteria, and the incident map confirms this. The TN River system has suffered flooding all along its drainage this spring. It is probably not a stretch to assume that this is part of the etiology of this disease showing up in the TN River.
