I hit gunterville this evening from the bank. Got to my destination about 4:45. I set up minnow pole the went under the bridge and tossed a jig till sun set. I caught one keeper crappie off the bat using monkey milk bbg on a 1/24th ball jig about 6ft deep. Caught a couple stripe and another crappie but it was slow so I headed to my spot before the crowd came.

Once dark hit bam one crappie, bam two crappie. I had a Mr. Crappie weighted bobber about 4ft above a plain hook, no split shot using 4lb test line. I had 3 rods in the water but I was only catching fish on that one rod. So I decided to set up another pole the exact same way. So I had two rods with the Mr. Crappie weighted bobber and one with a slip bobber. I caught a couple of fish on those two but I was catching plenty of fish on the first rod I set up.

I'm like Hmmmmmm why is this one rod getting all the bites, the lines at the same depth?

Then it hit me, the second rod with the Mr. Crappie weighted bobber had 6lb test, and the other rod had 4lb test. So although I had 4ft of line under the bobber on both rods the one with 6lb test was heavier so the minnow was actually deeper. So I changed my depth to 3ft. And Bam

Finished the night with 25. Had a couple good slabs in the mix. Water was stained but the water level went down quite a bit from the floods. It's a trip how the little things can make a big difference.
