    Default Cabelas crappie section

Was in there earlier today getting a new rod. Seems like they had a much better selection of crappie stuff than I recall from past visits. This a result of the merger between Bass Pro and them? I haven't really kept up.

And just an FYI, but I also purchased a Pfleuger President (2500 size), only to realize when I got back to work that they had the same reel on a combo for the exact same price. Not sure how great the rod is but really cant dispute that unless you just really want the reel box.

I like the Pfleuger President combo. I bought the 5'6" rod and 2500 reel combo a few months back from Cabelas when they had it on sale. One of my favorite combo's now.

lol bought a plunger trion combo a while back. The reel was good but I hated the rod.i think I missed fish because of it. I could be wrong but as soon as I changed rods I started feeling light bites.

Probably the same here. I only saw two of the combos when I was looking in person but they indicate their are more online. I will call and ask an associate before going back, even though I work fairly close to the store.

I bought a nice B'n'M rod as well to put the Pflueger reel on. I figured if I got the combo, I would match the rod with one of the old reels I have laying around and use it as an ultralite bass rig.
