Always have Blue Ice and Monkey Milk handy! That's a great place to start. For muddy water like the chartreuse with glitter.

I have watched every Richard Gene video of crappie fishing. It seems that when he fishes with Bobby Garlands that he always stresses natural colors. Those suggested by other posters seem about right. I have had good success with Blue Grass and Monkey Milk.

Blue Ice is probably my most consistent color especially when the water is somewhat clear. Licorice/Chartreuse (the black and green with the red/silver sparkles on top) is best for me in stained water. Glacier and Monkey Milk (with a pink jig head) are also good colors when the water isn't muddy.
My other colors which i have seen to be more location specific are:
Bleeding shad works well for me at Cotaco.
Chartreuse Silver has worked best for me at Smith Lake.
