I typically use high visibility line when spider rigging, it helps me detecting light bites. I've noticed that I catch many more large fish when casting small jigs with a single pole and low visibility line. The natural progression is moving to small line diameters to further reduce visibility and increase bait action. Again, just my 2 cents from what I've observed.
DB I agree 100% I tell people all the time low vis green line is the ticket sometimes. I can take you to lakes you will not get a bite with hi vis line. Also agree on the 4lb or 2lb line. Both will get more bites.

It may matter in clear water. If I was concerned with visibility I would fish fluorocarbon. I use hi vis and low vis long lining and have not noticed any difference. However I fish Weiss, Neely, and Guntersville and none of these is gin clear. Big G is the clearest but have never seen any difference there either.
In clear water yes And the size make a difference in action to

Yep, color and line size does make a difference for different conditions as stated above by lowe175, DB, and coach. I use 2 & 4 lbs test clear and high vis for single poling/dock shooting and 6 high vis for long line trolling.
