Thread: Elk River Today 3-19-07

Fished mouth of Anderson Creek north of highway 72 bridge.Started around noon and fished to 5 pm.Caught approx.15 and kept 5.Fish that i kept were all 10" long.The rest were around 9" or less.White was the only color they were interested in.Fish were in 9&10 ft. of water located very close to 5 or 6ft. flats.Got lots of short strikes , my guess is the water temp is a bit cold after the weekends cold weather.A couple of days of warm temps and sunshine should help the bite and the size of the crappie.Also had bit more wind than i usually like for trolling but still enjoyed the trip.

You may want to try further up in the creek. Water temp had been around 65 for about 10 days. People have been catching them in 3-4 foot of water.
