I wonder what they would have done if you'd thrown your anchor over in their boat? I would have been tempted to do that.
I think people are smart enough to know the particular location and situation. Some people just do not care. I use to fish under bridges a lot, and I realize a lot of people do, and things get close at times. I am okay with somewhat close, but some people know the way you are fishing and will cut you off. Fish move from side to side and front to back of your position at times. I feel you should have at least an area enough to make at least a small cast to each side of your boat. I have literally had people tie up so close they bump my boat. It gets ridiculous at times. If you want to fish a spot, get there before others.
That's too close!! I don't really fish many boat houses on the lakes I fish. Docks are smaller and I've never had another boat try to come in on me. Bridges have been a different story. The bridges that I've fished are two lane bridges and each pile is about wide enough for one boat to set up along side. I've had people pull up to the end and cast down them before and I've lost my cool when that's happened. Most of the time the folks had no clue that they were in the wrong and moved on offended it seemed.
