I filleted it, and I'm about to dip it in cornmeal and boil it in oil. :biggrin
I figure that's the least likely way to mess it up.

Ok, so now I see what the fuss is all about. This fish is really, really good. It has more taste than crappie, but not strong. I fixed it like I fry any fish. Put some corn meal with a little bit of flour and creole seasoning mixed in a ziplock bag. Put the fish in, shake it up real good and fry it.
Told u they was some tasty little critters.

My pastor been wanting some walleyes but don’t look like I’m going to be able to make it to Tennessee to try and catch some so maybe I can catch him some sauger!
I've been meaning to get up there and try to catch a few myself. Got some friends that catch them in January. They say they are good ,never had them.

I'm gonna get out in the boat and try them next time and I'm also going to try them on the upper side of the dam. If I get on any, I'll holler at you.
Brad, I used to catch 'em against the lock wall on the low side of the dam when they had a few flood gates open. Moving water always seemed to be the key to catching Jacks. Most would be short fish but I'd have a few keepers. Also there's a rock pile out in the river channel out from the bluff downstream from the dam. I've seen a lot come out of there but I never could get my drift right to catch em. PRB fishes that a lot I believe.
Nice catch I haven't been jack fishing in about 30 years me and my dad used to go below Wilson dam. From what I heard they don't catch them like they used to but there's no finer eating I might need to give it a try I think we used to catch them on a chartreuse curly tail grub with a 1/4 oz. head.
