Does anyone fish much for crappie on Guntersville. Planning a trip in about 10 days and want some tips for some good spots. Haven't been on Guntersville scince the early 70's and late 60's. There use to be some decent crappie on Guntersville back then. Plan on camping for the week and doing a little fishing. Don't want anyones honey hole just some good places to start not to far from the State Park.

I fish Guntersville faithfully for crappie every year. I think your best bet woul be around the Spring Creek bridge, and Town Creek is always a producer in that area. Fish hard and watch the current..... you might really do good if you concentrate on these areas. Good luck and god bless you.

Thanks guys. We used to drift fish close to the bridge at Spring Creek When I was a Kid. Using a Crappie Rig. I now live close to Logan Martin, and have lived here scince the mid 70's. Crappie fishing has come back some in the last few years here but nothing like it use to be when we moved here 30 years ago. You used to catch them everywhere. Now it is a little more difficult. I would have thought the NO EAT warning might have let them come back sooner but people don't pay attention to these things. The 9 in limit may have helped more than anything. Anyway thanks again.
Try the area around Preston Island![]()
