    Default Decatur report for Thursday

I caught a few small bass and 1 good small mouth on live shad. I also had drum, catfish and a sauger. That thing had some mean teeth. It has slowed down big time from a few weeks ago. They have the water way down and that may have them on the move . Great day on the water.

I have to agree with fishing man,I went across the causeway(67 on Flint creek) and the backwaters are lower than I've ever seen and I've fished this area for 30+ years

I agree the water is very low and it is very clear out on the river, I believe you can see muscle shells 6' deep. Not so clear back in Flintcreek.

It's not because they are keeping Guntersville at full pool. I went out today and the water is about 2 feet lower than it was a couple weeks ago. Guntersville never fluctuates a whole lot and they don't pull it down in the winter. I think it's just because it's really dry for this time of year. Not enough coming in.

Boy that sauger will eat good. Just made some yellow perch last night (same family) and they were fantastic. Good catch
