Finally

Guess ill learn to try everywhere. I was fishing around laydowns and brush and they were in open water about 3 feet down.

Probably started feeding at that time I have been many times out in open water where you would catch a few till just before dark then they would turn it on big time also they will do that at first light as well.but they also could have just moved in if the shad did.
