    Default Decatur area bank fishing

I live in Illinois and my cousin lives in Hartselle,Al. His son who is 13 really wants to get into crappie fishing. I am coming down this weekend for the game and would like to take him around and try to give him some tips. Any advice on where some good places to bank fish would really be appreciated. And yes they are Bama fans and I'm a LSU fan. Makes for some fun family reunions.

Spring creek bridge in Courtland, 31 causeway bridges or red bank rd bridge on flint creek in hartselle are the only ones i can think off. Maybe some others will chime in.

If your in decatur the have docks you can fish off at the marina and you could take 67 towards Priceville and fish of the dock or pull under the little bridge.

You can fish on the refuge you just can't drive, you have to walk or ride a bike. From Hartselle, probably easiest place that he will be able to get to after you leave is the red bank rd bridge on flint creek or the 31 causeway bridges. There are also a few places of Hwy 67 down by the refuge.
