I have been skunked last two times out - one at night. Hard to find them right now but I suspect they are deep (20'+).
Was told by a fishing buddy today he and his partner caught over 100 last Sunday. He found them in 30 FOW.

Yes. 30+, night time fishing over night we do great around bridge pilings. Tight line minnows with a #4 split shot about 8" above a #2 Aberdeen Sickle hook, without a green light/set at around 10ft. Just a head lamp and a florescent tipped pole. Good stuff! My buddy caught 39 last night in Guntersville, Brown's Creek area. Just let your jig sink to the bottom and reel it back extremely slow/or minnow set at about 10-15 ft and you'll be good to go.
I have no faith in those digital fishing apps. Alternatively, while commuting to the boat ramp, if I note deer and cattle actively grazing, I have hopes the fish will bite. Not surefire, but it makes for a optimistic conversation with my fishing partner.
Yeah, me too. Sucks that my fishing partner goes off those apps. I just enjoy going. I wanted to go tonight to Guntersville, but the weather is supposed to be bad. I would hate to get set up and here comes the lightning ... not fun. I might just wait a few more weeks for all this mess to clear on out.
Fished a bit under Blackwell's bridge on Jordan Sat night with green lights 40 fow, alot of shad schooled around the lights. 1 catfish 0 crappie!
