Well it's nice to know even ditch basser has a bad day sometimes. Glad you got to go anyway.

Work and travel has kept me busy the last few weeks, I finally found time to get out today. I expected most of the creeks and back waters to be muddy from the recent rain so I gave Madison County Lake a try. I started working the bank with a small spinner looking for gills, caught dozens, but all very small. Moved on to spider rigging for Crappie, but the recent rain has turned over the Lake. Instead of the typical summer thermocline set up with everything at about 12 foot or higher, I found fish from 6 feet all the way to the bottom. I ended up keeping 5 and returning 3 smaller Crappie. No pattern to the fish, caught one in 6 feet of water and another in 30 feet by the spillway. The water was 82 degrees and visibility of about 18 inches. It was still nice to get on the water!

Glad you were able to get out.
good you were able to get out and catch a few. Water is really messed up down here in the delta.
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.
Any day on the water is a good day. Glad you got out. I'm hanging up the rods for the next month and breaking out the tube and tow rope forthe kids.

Fishing is a privilege...catching is a bonus. Enjoy each precious moment we have to experience our great outdoors!
Great report DB, interesting that the rain turned that lake over again!!! Really an unusual situation for sure.
