I have tried this on both of these lakes several times and not had much luck at all. From my experience black crappie will hit a crank bait but not as much as white crappie do.Quote:

On Guntersville I have only caught one black in three years of cranking. All other fish have been whites.
Dono, but I catch as many black crappie on cranks as I do the whites.....
