Default Kayak Trip Report, Swan Creek WMA

I fished Swan Creek near the spring today between the morning and afternoon storms. I only caught two Crappie (both released) but found scattered Gills and Shellcrackers. I kept a limit of Gills and returned many more. A few came off redworm w/ a bobber but the best bait was a Red, 1/12oz Mepps inline spinner.

We fished west dyke and off of dairy Rd yesterday with no luck. Glad you found them as always.

Nice job, looks like you found some nice size shell crackers.

Everything I kept was over 9 inches, most 10 or better. Some of the biggest Gills I've caught in a while.

I've been trying to figure out how to catch Shellcrackers. Everyone says they prefer worms.

By the way, that's what I caught most of the Shellcrackers on. I had 16, most I've ever caught in a single trip.

Nice catch. Do they still have the road blocked making a short drag necessary to get to the spring ? is there still a big beaver dam in the back making for some deeper water ? Look forward to your reports.

Road is still blocked so a 200 foot drag to the water. The beaver dam is still in place also.
