Wheeler/Flint creek 2/4/17

Fished Flint creek Saturday morning. Caught 15 crappie only 1 measured and caught at least 50-60 stripe. Talked to several people fishing up and down the creek, most were fishing minners and said they had caught a few but wasn't burning the woods up. I fished tree tops 10-12 ft deep and fished the flats anywhere from 3ft deep to 9ft on the drop offs. Stripe were shallow chasing minners and crappie were deeper. Best bait for me was BG bleeding shad. Mostly tight lined the jigs but threw a jig under a cork some also. It was the first time I had been on the water fishing in about 3-4 months been to busy chasing Deer.

That's the way flint is the small ones move in and then the big mommas will be there if you are picking up all small ones just wait in two to three weeks there will be some pole benders there,at least that has been my experience
